Parishioners: Why We Pledge

wedding4Fredéric Bielaszka-Duvernay: I decided to participate in the stewardship campaign, because Saint-James has been a very welcoming community for my children and me, and I wanted to give back to this community the best I could. Thank you.    (Frédéric sings in the choir.)

Tom & Nancy Dewlin:  St. James Episcopal Church has been our 2nd home for 25 years. Our daughters were confirmed at St. James Church and our youngest was baptized here, also. We have many friends at St. James Church that we consider family. The morning that our father / father in-law passed away, Charlie was by our side. We consider St. James Church a place that we worship, and a place that provides us strength and support. We give from our hearts. We St. James Church!  ( Nancy chairs the Art Show Committee and Tom hangs the art work. Both are ushers at 10:15)

Joan and Richard Warnsmann: We moved to White Hall 22 years ago from Pikesville. After searching and attending many denominations in this area, we felt an attraction to St. James. We will be forever grateful and dedicated for a sublime act: my sister passed away suddenly and we were at a loss for a final dsc_5823resting place.  Most of the Warnsmann ancestors are buried at St. James. We were granted permission to use a space in the family plot. We are blessed with the fellowship we receive from friends we have made in the church. God answers our prayers in many ways. Hopefully, we can find it in our hearts to support this wonderful place for many years to come. (Joan heads the Flower Ministry that distributes the altar flowers, Richard posts yard signs for concerts.)

Rob and Margaret Moncure:  We moved to Monkton 10 years ago and this was the second church we visited. We were immediately attracted by the historic building, the traditional service and strong music program, but mostly by the clergy and the warm and welcoming congregation.  Coming to St. James felt like coming home. ( Rob has served on the Vestry, Margaret teaches Sunday School. Their sons are acolytes.)
