Below are links to two coloring books inspired by the stories and beautiful stained glass windows of Saint James Church. The first is a meditation coloring book featuring detailed illustrations of each stained glass window, created for quiet reflection and creativity. The second is a simplified coloring book designed especially for children and families to enjoy together. We hope these books bring joy, inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty and stories found within the windows of Saint James Church.
The stained glass windows are all memorials installed overtime beginning about 1900. There are fourteen stained glass windows starting at the tower entrance over the door and going counter clockwise, beginning in the narthex:
- Jesus Praying in the Garden of Gethsemane
- Knock and Ye Shall Enter
- Raising of Jairus’ Daughter
- The Ascension
- Resurrection, Guards and Angels
- Annunciation
- St Helena
- Visitation
- Good Shepherd
- Presentation of Jesus in the Temple
- Jordan River
- Nativity
- The Angel of the Church – Eternal Life and Truth (Signed Tiffany)
- Resurrection: Angels and Women
In 1989, Michele Bond—known affectionately as “Micki”—became Assistant to the Rector for Youth Ministry Development and Christian Education at Saint James Church. On May 8, 1990, she was ordained to the priesthood at Saint James.
In 1995, The Reverend Michele Bond created a coloring book as a gift for the children of Saint James upon her departure from the parish.
Today, the illustrations and layout have been thoughtfully updated in-house to accompany the stories Micki lovingly wrote for the children of Saint James Church.
