In May I wrote about Meaningful Conversations. I suggested that once a month we take an opportunity for a round table discussion for our questions, our conversations, and an opportunity to go deeper. Saint James is similar to many other parishes in that we have less time as a community for the deeper conversations. We have less time set aside to ask questions about this parish as well as the church. We have less time to discuss the connections between our faith and today’s news. We have less time to listen to different points of view and less time to give voice to our own questions.
Instead of only once a month, I’d like to offer a weekly opportunity for you to gather for Coffee and Conversation. Already suggested are questions about The Episcopal Church, about the sacraments, about theology, why we do certain things in church as well as the vast subject of politics.
If you have an unscheduled morning and want to come by, you will be welcome and if you wish, bring a friend. Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30 in the Parish Library.
What else is on your mind? Where would you like to go deeper?
